The Le Roi mall was originally constructed circa 1930. For the last 94 years this building has been an important part of the Rossland cultural fabric.
Originally a bowling alley, it has supported on various occasions a pool hall, restaurant, pinball arcade and juke joint. At one point the main floor was changed to retail and the building became known as the Le Roi mall.
Stand Architecture is working with the current owner to refurbish the interior to create new commercial spaces.
Renovating this building is an important effort in maintaining the historical nature of Rossland. Maintaining existing building stock is also a sustainable decision, keeping significant construction waste from the landfill, and avoiding the embodied carbon of new construction.
